Few things are hard to believe but this report is an actual reality that may shake up the plans of certain class of car buyers. PAL-V, the dutch company that promised a flying car is back with its product, claimed to be the first ever certified commercial flying car. The company has named the three wheeled hybrid as Liberty and prices for the same starts from $400,000 (INR 2.67 Crore). This tag is for Sport (base) edition as the top spec Pioneer Edition would get an asking price of $600,000 (INR 4.01 Crore).
The top spec PAL-V Liberty carries power heating, detailing and electronic flight display control in place of the old school analog console. The same even carries ‘at home training’ option. The machine carries a retractable top mounted rotor and has the ability to fly non stop for 4.3 hours. The 0-100 kmph ground time for the same is 9 seconds while the total ground range is quite high at 1315 kilometers. It claims a fuel use of 7.6 liters per 100 km. It weighs 664 kg and has seating for two persons.

PAL-V has a claimed top speed of 160 kmph on the ground and 180 kmph in the air. The fuel tank capacity is 100 liters. The pre-order for the same has started and it can be booked for a non-refundable amount of $25,000 (Pioneer Edition) and $10,000 (Sport Edition). Company has been testing the same technology from 2009. PAL-V will initially manufacture just 90 units for the Pioneer Edition while the same cannot be expected to be on the road before end 2018.
The company has not yet mentioned about the licensing needs for the Liberty while they have expressed the ease that will be passes on to the customers through the flying vehicle. It can be seen flying in all kinds of weather as it has 80 percent less effect of the heavy winds and can be flown from any airstrip to the other. They have tagged it as a valuable asset for those who wish to save time and reach every destination in their very own style.
