Tata Motors launched the much-awaited Punch micro SUV in India back on October 18, 2021, with a starting ex-showroom price tag of Rs 5.49 lakhs. After getting a price hike recently, the car is now available in the market with a starting price of Rs 5.65 lakhs. The newly-launched car competes in the Indian market with the likes of the Maruti Suzuki Ignis, Renault Kiger, Nissan Magnite, and the Mahindra KUV100 NXT. Here is the complete variant-wise price list for the all-new Tata Punch:
Tata Punch is the brand’s most affordable SUV, slotting below the Nexon in the company’s SUV lineup. It is available in seven different colour schemes and four trim levels – Pure, Adventurous, Accomplished, and Creative. The top-spec Creative variants are also available with dual-tone paint schemes.
If we talk about the looks of the all-new micro SUV, the Tata Punch is really handsome. The exterior styling and design seem to be heavily inspired by the brand’s Harrier and Safari, with thin LED daytime running lights and large headlights fitted inside the front bumper.
Moreover, the front grille is identical to the Nexon’s, while the front bumper looks very muscular with Tata’s tri-arrow design embellishments. Tata Motors’ Global Head of Design, Martin Uhlarik, stated that their three design teams in India, the United Kingdom, and Italy collaborated to create the Tata Punch. Over 140 design experts worked on this project, creating hundreds of drawings, design concepts, and models that resulted in this beautiful micro SUV.
Based on Tata’s ALFA architecture, the Punch has twin front airbags, ABS with EBD and corner safety control, a reverse parking camera, ISOFIX child seat anchors as well as it gets a puncture repair kit. The micro SUV is powered by a 1.2-litre, naturally aspirated, three-cylinder Revotron petrol engine producing 85bhp at 6,000rpm and 113Nm of torque at 3,300rpm. This engine is coupled with either a five-speed manual transmission or an AMT transmission.
