Tata Motors recently revealed the updated model of its Tigor electric sedan in the country. As per the official details available, the 2022 Tigor EV is going to launch on 31st August 2021 and interested buyers can book the car by paying INR 21,000 as the token amount. It can be done by visiting the nearest authorized dealership or on the official website of the brand. The upcoming sedan becomes the second car that uses the company’s ZipTron technology after the Nexon EV.
Vivek Srivatsa, Head of Marketing, Passenger and EV Business at Tata Motors, revealed many things about the forthcoming electric car but still has not disclosed the range it provides. The Ziptron-powered Nexon EV offers a range of 312 kilometres on a single charge, and we expect the Tigor EV to return a similar kind of electric range. It gets the same 26 kWh lithium-ion battery pack as well as a new Permanent Magnet Synchronous electric motor. The electric motor produces 55 kW (74 bhp) of power and 170 Nm of peak torque.
The 2022 Tata Tigor EV interiors have also been revealed and look precisely like its fleet counterpart, the Xpres-T EV. Even the features are also the same but the 2022 model of the all-electric Tigor sedan includes connected car technology that allows you to see crucial information from your phone. A touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, keyless entry with push-button start, automated temperature control, a Harman sound system, and electrically adjustable ORVMs are among the other prominent features.
As far as passenger safety is concerned, Tata Motors goes on to mention that the new 2022 Tigor EV is the country’s safest electric car right now. The EV has an impact-resistant battery pack housing and a robust frame to reduce the possibility of a mishap. Furthermore, the all-new e-car comes equipped with twin airbags, ABS with EBD, rear parking sensors, hill assist and hill descent control. The 2022 Tigor EV is expected to be priced at about Rs 10 lakh (ex-showroom), making it one of the most inexpensive long-range EVs in the Indian market.
