The electric Tata Nexon SUV is one of the most anticipated products from the brand that is expected to be officially launched on January 28, 2020. The upcoming electric product has been recently certified by ARAI for a range of 312km, surpassing all the expectations.
Based on the Tata Ziptron EV powertrain, the upcoming Nexon EV is powered by a 30.2kWh lithium-ion battery mated to an electric motor that is capable of generating maximum power of 129HP and a peak torque of 245Nm. The EV is capable of accelerating from 0-60kmph in just 4.6 seconds while takes only 9.9 seconds to reach 100kmph. The 50:50 front-rear weight distribution offered to the electric Tata Nexon SUV makes it one of the best-handled cars in any condition.
The brand has equipped the upcoming Tata Nexon EV with an energy regeneration system that allows the EV to offer optimum performance in the Indian weather conditions. The EV can be further operated in two driving modes namely Drive and Sport based on the driver’s preference.
The Nexon EV can be charged 0-80% in just 60 minutes with a DC fast charger while the customers can further charge the EV with a 15A AC standard charger though it takes around 8 hours to charge the SUV from 20% to 100%.
The brand will be launching the Nexon EV in three variants namely XM, XZ+ and XZ+ LUX. The Tata Nexon XM will feature a keyless entry in addition to getting automatic climate control, premium cloth interiors as well as two driving modes. On the other hand, the Tata Nexon XZ+ variant will be sold with 16-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels in addition to getting dual-tone colour profile for the exterior.
Tata Motors will be further offering the EV with a 7.0-inch touchscreen system as well as a reverse camera. The top-spec variant of the SUV will get a panoramic sunroof in addition to getting premium upholstery as well as automatic headlights and wipers.
The customers will be able to get their hands on the electric Tata Nexon SUV with an 8-year/1,60,000km warranty on its battery as well as the motor as standard. One can expect the EV to be priced between INR 15 lakh to INR 17 lakh (ex-showroom).
