Tata Altroz to Launch in India on January 22, 2020
According to a recent report from IAB, the most anticipated hatchback of the year, the Tata Altroz will be launched in India on January 22, 2020. The hatchback was first debuted by the brand on December 3, 2019, while the customers can book the Tata Altroz at the authorised Tata dealerships with a token amount of INR 21,000.
The Tata Altroz is the debutant hatchback from the brand that is based on Agile Light Flexible Advanced (ALFA) architecture. The brand further plans on launching more cars in the hatchback and SUV segment based on the same platform though there have been no details confirmed on the same.
The Altroz hatchback will be available to the customers in five trims namely: XE, XM, XT, XZ and XZ (O) which can be availed in 5 iconic shades of Skyline Silver, Downtown Red, High-Street Gold, Avenue White, and Midtown Grey.
Mechanically, the Tata Altroz will be available in India with two engine options namely: 1.2-litre naturally aspirated, three-cylinder petrol engine and a 1.5-litre, four-cylinder turbo-diesel engine. The former is good for a maximum power of 86HP @ 6000 rpm and a peak torque of 113 Nm @ 3300 rpm.
On the other hand, the diesel engine will be good for 90HP of maximum power @ 4000 rpm and an utmost torque of 200 Nm @ 1250-3000 rpm. Both the engine variants will be mated to a 5-speed manual transmission as standard. Some reports also suggest that the hatchback will be available with a 1.2L turbocharged petrol engine in the future though there has been no official confirmation as of yet.
