Tigor is powered by the same set of petrol and diesel, 3-cylinder engines from Tiago. The Geneva Edition carried high spec parts like front projectors, tweaked bumpers, chrome lined exterior and a faux skid plate at the front. The production car may not carry this level of sophistication. Tata Tigor uses a touchscreen infotainment system that comes paired to the JBL developed music system and doubles up as the rear view camera screen. It actually shares the same interior as a standard Tiago and shares a lot of physical parts with the hatchback version.

The 1.2 liter, 3-cylinder petrol engine on the Tigor is equipped with multiple drive modes. The engine is good for 85 PS at 6000 rpm and 114 Nm at 3500 rpm. The engine may offer an AMT gearbox while the 5-speed gearbox will be available as standard on the car. The 1.05 liter, 3-cylinder diesel motor on the car is good for 70 PS at 4000 rpm and 140 Nm at 1800-3000 rpm. Tigor will offer a class leading figure for the boot storage and would use its youth oriented design to cater the needs of young buyers and claim its own territory in the Indian market.
