Toyota Urban Cruiser Booking & Launch Details Surface Online: According to one of the recent reports, the Maruti Suzuki Vitara Brezza-based Toyota Urban Cruiser will launch in the Indian market in September 2020 while the pre-bookings for the compact SUV will commence from the third week of August. Here are the digital renderings of the upcoming car by the well-known digital artist Kleber Silva:
Earlier, the compact SUV was supposed to launch in August but the launch has been delayed as Maruti Suzuki has not yet dispatched the Urban Cruiser and a few Toyota dealerships have also confirmed that they haven’t received the compact SUV yet. Maruti Suzuki has recently commenced the production of its cars in a phased manner and the brand is reportedly not able to meet the demand generated by Arena and NEXA customers.
Coming to the rebadged version of the Vitara Brezza, the Urban Cruiser is not going to feature every similar trait of the compact Maruti SUV. Toyota has decided to follow a different path with their rebadged SUV when compared to the Toyota Glanza which is a rebadged Maruti Baleno and features only Toyota badging for differentiation.
The Urban Cruiser will be the first-ever SUV from the brand that will feature a mild hybrid system mated to a manual gearbox. The manual version of the SUV is also expected to offer better fuel efficiency than the one offered by the non-hybrid manual variant of the Vitara Brezza.
Apart from this, both the manual and automatic versions of the Toyota Urban Cruiser will be mated to mild hybrid technologies though the brand is not expected to offer them an ISG external badging. Once launched in India, the Urban Cruiser will be priced in the same vicinity of INR 7 to INR 11 lakh just like the Vitara Brezza though the brand is expected to sweeten up the deal further with impressive warranty schemes for the high-end variants.
