Toyota has launched the much awaited next generation, 2017 Fortuner in India at a starting price tag of INR 25.92 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The car is currently offered with 2.7 liter petrol and 2.8 liter diesel motor. Toyota has currently skipped the smaller diesel engine, which may enter the Indian market at a later stage. The top spec Toyota Fortuner with all wheel drive and automatic gearbox comes with a tag of INR 31.12 lakh.

Toyota is offering the petrol 2.7 L Fortuner with 2 wheel drive option only. The gearbox on the petrol is again 5-speed manual and 6-speed automatic units. On the other hand, the diesel 2.8 L Toyota Fortuner comes with an option between 2 wheel drive / 4 wheel drive and 6-speed manual / 6-speed automatic gearbox.
The car comes with some best in class features and carries the same Toyota trust in hand all the time. The 2.7 L, 4-cylinder petrol engine is good for 166 PS @ 5200 rpm and 245 Nm @ 4000 rpm. The 2.8 L diesel on the other hand is good for 177 PS @ 3400 rpm and 420 Nm (MT) / 450 Nm (AT) of torque from 1600 to 2400 rpm.
2017 Fortuner uses automatic LED projector headlamps, which is a first in class feature for an SUV of this class. The car comes with one touch tumble second and third row of seats, automatic climate control, leather upholstery, power tailgate, eight way power adjustable driver seat and a 7-inch touchscreen infotainment system.
New Toyota Fortuner The car comes with safety loaded features like seven airbags, ABS with EBD, stability control, hill descent control and hill hold assist. It even comes with paddle shifters and cruise control for enhanced driving essence. The 4×4 models are offered with 18 inch wheels while the 2 wheel drive comes with 17 inch units. Placed a bit above from all others, Toyota Fortuner is here to relive the charm that it brought back to India in 2009.
