Toyota C+ Pod 2-Seater Electric Car Price and Key Specs: Back in December 2020, Toyota launched C+ Pod, a compact, two-seater urban battery electric vehicle in Japan with a starting price tag of 1,650,000 yen (INR 11.15 lakhs, approximate, direct conversion). The C+ Pod will have access to uncertain territories and aims at helping those urban corporations who require regular visits from customers in the mountainous regions.
The Toyota C+ Pod is environment-friendly and uses unrestricted transportation options. It is an ultra-compact 2-seater car that measures 2490mm long, 1290mm wide, and 1550mm tall with a 1780mm wheelbase. The C+ Pod has a turning radius of just 3.9-metres for best-ever manoeuvrability which can cover sharp corners and narrow roads and can minimize steering wheel operation.
Toyota C+ Pod 2-Seater electric car is powered by a single permanent-magnet motor producing 12.3 HP of maximum power and 56 Nm of torque and enables a speed of a maximum of 60 kmph. The car is equipped with a 9.06 kWh lithium-ion battery which takes around five hours to gain a full charge from a 200-volt/16-amp single-phase supply or around 16 hours from a 100-volt/6-amp single-phase supply. It is based on the WLTC Class 1 test cycle, ideally, C+ Pod has a range of around 150km.
The Toyota C+ Pod has active driver assistance and provides a pre-collision feature to the urban model. This system is effective in suspecting and sensing vehicles and pedestrians both during the day and at night. The exterior of the C+ Pod features LED headlights and LED tail lamps while the panels are made of plastic in order to reduce the weight of the vehicle.
Inside the compact car, the cabin boasts an interior width of 1100mm where the instrumentation is located in the centre of the dashboard. The Toyota C+ Pod is a Japan-only model and as of now, the brand has no plans to launch it in the Indian markets.
