Toyota fans would feel rejoiced with the recent report that claims the new C-HR crossover will launch in India in 2018. The design language and size of the car makes the fact clear that its built for developed markets while the news further means that Toyota considers India as an important market for its newly developed products. Toyota C-HR’s design is actually more biased toward the young audience and many would even start making plans for their 2018 car purchase with this recent report.
Toyota planning to launch C-HR in India in 2018
Design hints can be directly seen from the concept model while most of the elements have been replaced with the practical and cost effective units being used in other everyday cars. The design on the production version adds more legroom and headroom for the rear seat passengers. The door handles at the rear are camouflaged into the pillar, presenting an independent coupe like design on the last half of the car. The arrow shaped taillights have even been retained on the production spec Toyota C-HR.
Toyota C-HR is based on the same platform as the new Prius, providing the C-HR with 1.2 liter turbocharged petrol and 2.0 liter petrol engine on the international spec car. In India, it will most probably use the tried and tested 1.2 liter petrol as well as 1.4 liter diesel motor. However, the engines can be tuned for more output on the car as seen on the new Toyota Corolla Altis. C-HR is expected to be priced around INR 15 lakhs (ex-showroom).
