Toyota recently registered a new trademark, namely Urban Cruiser HyRyder. It is assumed that the company is planning to launch a new variant or new-gen Urban Cruiser in the upcoming weeks with the name HyRyder. The previous Urban Cruiser has a stunning boxy design and a proper SUV look.
The front carries very powerful dual-projector automatic LED headlamps and foglights, and the stylish grille is inspired by the Fortuner. The car has LED taillights at the rear, along with a rear windshield wiper and a rear defogger. The front windshield has rain-sensing wipers. The Urban Cruiser houses an automatic air conditioner with cooling fans, all-black interiors with a glossy finish, a leather-wrapped steering wheel, a 7″ touchscreen cool infotainment system with Android Auto and Apple Car Play, and a six-speaker sound system.
The front seats are comfortable with great under thigh and upper back support with armrests. There is sufficient legroom and headroom in the front as well as the back seats. The hill start assist maintains the brake pressure for a set period of time as you switch from the brakes to the gas pedal.
Speaking of safety and security, the car comes with an anti-lock braking system (ABS) with electronic brake-force distribution, two airbags and a rear camera. The 1.5-litre petrol engine generates max power of 103 hp at 6000 rpm and a max torque of 138 Nm at 4400 rpm when teamed up with a 5-speed manual gearbox or a 4-speed automatic one.
The McPherson Strut with coil spring front suspension and Torsion Beam, along with coil spring rear suspension, provides high-speed stability even on rough and bumpy roads. It can be assumed that the variant may have a slight makeover with a bit of a sporty-rugged look, as the name HyRyder hints, though it is too early to guess.
