Cricket World Cup Special: 3 Volkswagen Cup Edition Cars Launched

With the beginning of the Cricket World Cup 2019, Volkswagen India has introduced 3 Cup Edition cars for their popular models in India. The special edition cars are available from a starting price tag of INR 6.19 lakh for Ameo, INR 6.49 lakh for the Polo and INR 9.24 lakh for the Vento Cup Edition. The models are based on the Comfortline variant of these cars, further undercutting those for perfect placement. The addition to the cars is worth consideration as buyers will get alloy wheels, faux leather seats, and Cup Edition badges at various interior and exterior locations.

VW Polo Cup Edition

The Polo Cup Edition comes with 15-inch Razor wheels while those getting the Ameo will get 15-inch Tosa alloy wheels. The Vento Cup Edition is available with 15-inch Linas alloy wheels. The only restriction for Cup Edition models is the use of 1.0L petrol engine for the Polo as well as Ameo and 1.6L petrol for the Vento. The buyers of the diesel engine will need to consider regular variants only. The 1.0L petrol engine is the least powerful motor of its kind, producing 76 HP of power and 95 Nm of torque.

VW Vento Cup Edition

The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. On the other hand, the 1.6L petrol engine is good for 105 HP of maximum power. Volkswagen is expected to launch the diesel engine Cup Edition cars in the coming days as a huge number of buyers follow Volkswagen for their powerful diesel engines.

Volkswagen Polo rivals Maruti Baleno, Hyundai i20 and Honda Jazz in India while Ameo competes with Maruti Dzire, Hyundai Xcent, and Honda Amaze. The bigger Volkswagen Vento is a direct rival to sedans like Honda City, Hyundai Verna, and Maruti Ciaz. The first Cricket World Cup match sees England rivalling South Africa.
