After offering a couple of amazing bikes, CFMoto is gearing up to launch another sports bike, which will be named the 450SR and will most probably be introduced this year. This forthcoming bike will be based on the SR C21 concept which was shown last year. Ahead of any official confirmation about the launch, an image of the bike has leaked online, giving hints about the design and styling of the new bike.
As per the leaked photos and approved paperwork, the 450SR keeps most of the concept’s design language. However, a few tweaks have made the bike appear more realistic and cost-effective. The traditional headlamps are flanked by two LED DRLs on the fascia. The front USD forks aren’t so stylish while the SR C21 Project’s dual high-mounted exhausts have been replaced by a single low-mounted pipe.
In terms of powertrain, the upcoming CFMoto 450SR will be powered by a 450cc twin-cylinder engine that is capable of generating maximum power of 50bhp with a wet weight of 168 kg. The claimed top speed of the bike is 190kmph. The black and carbon bodywork of the SR C21 may have been replaced with white and blue on the production 450SR, but the shape hasn’t changed much.
The original design didn’t have any headlights and instead relied on LED strips embedded in the nose. The manufacturing model’s DRLs replicate those LEDs, although they now sit above a pair of traditional lamps. The 450SR is likely to be exhibited at the 2022 EICMA Show later this year, with a global debut somewhere early next year.
Unfortunately, CFMoto’s India operation has had a rocky start. As a result, there is uncertainty about bringing more modern motorcycles to India, but still, we can’t rule out 450SR for the Indian market and it is possible that CFMoto may launch the sportbike in our country at a later stage in future.
