2023 MG Hector Revealed – Exterior & Interior Live Photos

In June 2019, MG launched the Hector as its first product in India. It piqued consumer interest and has been a consistent seller for the brand. MG is now preparing to launch the refreshed Hector in the Indian market. On January 11, 2023, MG will reveal pricing for the Hector and Hector Plus facelifts at the Auto Expo 2023.

It gets a much more imposing grille than the previous model. The grille is described as an “Argyle-inspired Diamond mesh grille” by MG. The Hector was one of the first SUVs in India to feature split headlamps, and it retains the same design.

The top section which houses the LED DRLs remains unchanged. Minor changes to the front accommodate the reshaped grille with a smaller chin. In profile, the refreshed Hector is identical to the outgoing model, right down to the alloy wheel design.

The new touchscreen infotainment system is the first thing that stands out on the inside. The refreshed model raises the bar with a class-leading 14-inch touchscreen. Aside from the increased size, the new screen is full HD.

It also includes the MG Assistant feature, which operates via a set of voice commands for a variety of functions. It includes the sunroof functions, temperature, and changing the shades of ambient lighting.

The 2023 MG Hector also gets a 360-degree camera, and the views are crystal clear thanks to the HD setup. The 360-degree camera can be switched to 3D mode as well. The ADAS system includes adaptive cruise control, and forward collision warning. Lane-keeping assists and autonomous emergency bracing is one of the significant features.

The 1.5-litre petrol engine powers the Hector with a five-speed manual or a CVT automatic transmission. This engine does not include the mild-hybrid technology that was before available.

The diesel engine is also the same 170 hp, 2.0-litre unit found in the Harrier, Safari, and Compass. On the Hector diesel, MG continues to offer only a single six-speed manual transmission. MG will begin delivering pre-ordered units after the price reveal at the Auto Expo 2023.
