In this era of e-commerce sites, many people want to get the benefit of offers provided by these platforms. However, we see that the fraud rates are quite less now but still not zero. Customers get the wrong product or empty boxes instead of the thing that was ordered. The same incident was witnessed by one of the Flipkart customers recently.
As per one of the latest reports by Gizmochina, a Flipkart customer ordered an Apple iPhone 12 worth Rs. 51,999 during the Big Billion Days sale, but it was utterly shocking for him to get soap bars instead of the mobile phone. As Gizmochina mentioned in their report, one of their colleagues, Mr Simranpal Singh, recently faced such a fraud.

When he got the delivery of his phone, he opted for ‘Open Box Delivery’ and it proved a life-saving decision because, after opening the box, he found two Nirma soap bars instead of the iPhone 12, Mr Singh claimed.
Also, he chose to not provide OTP to the Wishmaster for marking the product delivered. Upon calling Flipkart customer support, they informed him that the product was out for delivery status, hence it was not possible to cancel the order at that time. Wishmaster returned with the failed delivery, but after a while, shared the OTP again.
That was such a ridiculous experience and Simranpal Singh asked to speak to the delivery agent’s superior. Superior also strangely requested the same thing. The Delivery Partner had already enough information, though. To be clear, nothing on the Flipkart Open Box Delivery FAQs website mentions the requirement for any information from the buyer in such circumstances.
However, after some other failed attempts and continuous calling to FK customer support, they cancelled the order and processed a refund which got credited to his account after a few days. Customers should always be extra conscious while ordering such expensive products from online shopping sites and prefer ‘Open Box Delivery to get saved from such fraudulent incidents.
