Two BlackBerry phones just saw the light of the day when Optiemus launched the BlackBerry Evolve and the EvolveX in India, as expected. Both the phones sport the same 5.99-inch Full HD+ display with an aspect ratio of 18:9 and a resolution of 2160×1080 pixels. The screen is protected with 2.5D Corning Gorilla Glass 5 protection. The phones run on Android 8.1 Oreo which is secured with the DTEK application.
The Evolve is powered by Snapdragon 450 and comes with 4GB of RAM and dual 13-megapixel camera setup at the rear. The EvolveX, on the other hand, comes equipped with Snapdragon 660 with 6GB of RAM. The dual camera setup on the bigger sibling sports a 12-megapixel primary rear camera which is supported by a secondary 13-megapixel camera with real-time depth of field effect for portrait shots. Below the camera setup, at the rear, lies the fingerprint sensor. The camera on the front sports a 16-megapixel camera with f/2.0 aperture.
There is a 3.5mm audio jack, which has become a major feature ever since Apple decided to get rid of it. The phones draw their energy from a 4,000 mAh battery pack. The EvolveX has an additional advantage of Qualcomm Quick Charge 3.0 and Wireless Charging as well. The panel on the back is made out of soft-touch material, and the frame is made out of grade-7 aluminium. There is a Hybrid Dual SIM slot on both the phones with support for nano-SIM.
The Evolve and the EvolveX are priced at INR 24,990 and INR 34,990, respectively. The phones will be available on Amazon.in exclusively and the sales for the EvolveX will begin at the end of August, while the younger sibling will follow soon in mid-September.
