Jio Launches INR 251 ‘Work From Home’ Prepaid Pack: The outbreak of Coronavirus has forced everyone to stay at home which has resulted in people working from home, especially IT professionals. The Indian government has recently announced a complete lockdown for 21 days across the country. More people working from home means that data consumption will be more than usual.
For the ease of citizens, the mobile operators and internet service providers are offering more data and speed. Recently, Reliance Jio has announced an INR 251 prepaid ‘Work from Home’ plan and the brand is also offering double data for the existing Jio Fiber users.
In an issued media statement, Reliance Jio commented: “Reliance Industries Ltd. (RIL) has responded to its call-of-duty to be at the service of the nation 24×7 in our collective fight against Covid-19. RIL has already initiated multi-pronged prevention, mitigation, and ongoing support strategy that is comprehensive, sustainable, and resilient. This approach can be ramped up further to scale as required by the nation. RIL has deployed the combined strengths of Reliance Foundation, Reliance Retail, Jio, Reliance Life Sciences, Reliance Industries, and all the 6,00,000 members of the Reliance Family on this action plan against COVID-19.”
The ‘Work From Home’ prepaid plan offers 2GB of 4G data per day for 51 days. It costs INR 251 and does not include any voice or SMS benefits as it strictly offers only data/internet. This plan was previously offered as Jio ‘Cricket Season Pack’. The existing Jio users will be able to enjoy more benefits as they get double data on 4G add-on vouchers and it will include non-Jio voice calling minutes as well.
For broadband, Jio will provide basic Jio Fiber broadband connectivity with a speed of 10Mbps without any service charges. The existing Jio Fiber users will get double data across all plans. Other internet service providers and mobile operators are also expected to come up with a similar announcement in the coming days.
