2018 Samsung Galaxy J2 was recently seen listed under a retailer website in Russia. The given price of 7990 Rubles translates roughly to INR 8850 and hints at an entry level smartphone preparation for the Indian market.
Phones under INR 10,000 are the most selling products for manufacturers and pricing the 2018 Samsung Galaxy J2 under INR 9000 will bring fans a good option in place of Chinese brands. It will primarily rival Redmi 4 and Redmi 5A in the country. Still, buyers of Samsung J2 will miss on a long list of feature and gain almost one or two better features in return.
Galaxy J2 is powered by a 1.4 GHz, Quad Core Snapdragon 425 processor with Adreno 308 GPU. The chipset is the most basic one that buyers can get in the INR 4999 worth Redmi 5A. Samsung brings a better Super AMOLED display for the J2 but keeps the resolution lower at 960×540.
They even offer just 1.5 GB of RAM whereas rivals never drop under 2GB on even the most basic option. 16GB of internal storage still keeps the phone well brushed in terms of memory. As the body available here is made from polycarbonate, direct rivalry will shift to just Redmi 5A in India.
The typical Samsung design is here with center button and two capacitive buttons. 2018 Samsung Galaxy J2 misses on a fingerprint sensor and comes with 4G VoLTE and GPS as standard. The website also lists a 5MP front camera and 8MP rear camera, both of them being offered with LED flash.
Buyers will be able to order the same in Black and Gold in Russia. Galaxy J2 runs on Android 7.1 Nougat and comes with Samsung custom theme on top. No news regarding the launch was made official yet.
