The other phones which have seen the price cut are the Xperia L2 and Xperia R1. L2 was launched in February this year at INR 19,900, has got a price cut of INR 5,000, and it is now available at an effective price of INR 14,990. Sony Xperia R1 was launched in October last year at INR 12,990 and after facing a decrease in price of INR 3,000, the smartphone is now available at INR 9,990.

These new prices will soon be reflected in the Sony Centers and online stores like Amazon and Flipkart. It seems as if the company is lowering the prices to either match up to the other smartphones in the market which offer better features and design or to clear the stocks before launching its latest flagship, the Xperia XZ2, which was announced at the MWC earlier this year.
