Xiaomi’s upcoming flagship smartphone, the Redmi K20 is in the news since the company launched a teaser congratulating OnePlus on the release of their new flagship OnePlus 7 series. Recently, the general manager of Xiaomi confirmed the name of the upcoming phone to be Redmi K20, and within two days, more details of the smartphone have leaked online.
As per the latest details, it now almost confirmed that the Xiaomi K20 will be launched in 2 variants: Standard and Pro. The leaked images of the upcoming K20 smartphone shows its retail box, official back case, and the temporary screen protector. The retail box of the phone will have a dual colour design. Its lid is black while the main box itself is purple. The box also features an image of the demon king in the centre.
The temporary screen protector has also leaked which reveals a lot of information about the upcoming phone. It is now confirmed that the K20 series would be powered by a Snapdragon 855 processor with a triple rear camera setup out of which the specs of two cameras have been mentioned on the screen protector but the third one is still a mystery. Its primary camera would be of 48MP followed by 20MP and we can expect the primary rear camera to get Sony IMX586 sensor like the OnePlus 7 and the ZenFone 6.
The K20 pro version would be equipped with a 6.39-inch AMOLED display and the battery capacity of the phone would be 4000mAH. Also, ahead of the launch of the Redmi K20 smartphone, the AnTuTu score has also leaked, which is quite impressive and the phone scored 458,754 points which means that it would be 25% faster than the Galaxy S10, though both the smartphones are powered by the same processor.
There is also an image of the demon king on the purple back case, which has a long cutout in the middle for cameras. By looking at the design it can be expected that the K20 Pro will feature triple rear camera setup. The length of the cutout is exactly the length of three cameras and an LED flash, so there is no space for the fingerprint scanner.
The case didn’t have a cutout for side mounted fingerprint scanner either so it is clear that the smartphone will have an in-display fingerprint scanner. The side of the case only shows the phone’s power and volume buttons that are there on the right side of the frame.
As of now, Xiaomi has not revealed the exact launch date of the K20 while it is being rumoured to launch on May 21 in China. In terms of pricing, the Redmi K20 is expected to undercut the OnePlus 7 by a good margin.
