Xiaomi Redmi K30 to Feature Dual In-Display Front Cameras

After the success of Redmi K20 series, Xiaomi has started teasing the successor for the smartphone, the Redmi K30. The latest teaser image of the smartphone reveals that it gets a punch-hole display that will house dual front cameras inside the hole.

The camera setup is similar to one we have seen in the Samsung Galaxy S10+. It will be the first Redmi smartphone to sport such display. The General Manager for Redmi, Lu Weibing, has posted two teaser posters on Weibo revealing key details about the Redmi K30.

The first teaser image of the smartphone reveals that it will support dual front cameras in a punch-hole display. The in-screen cameras are positioned on the top-right edge. The second teaser confirms that this smartphone will come with support for 5G standalone and non-standalone sub-6Hz networks. The CEO for the company Lei Jun claimed that the Redmi K30 will support NSA + SA dual-mode 5G.

Qualcomm will also bring 5G chips to power the mid-range devices hitting the market next year. The fifth-generation chipsets from Qualcomm will arrive across Snapdragon 8-series, 7-series and 6-series in 2020. Xiaomi is likely to integrate one of these chips, most probably a Snapdragon 7-series chipset, on the upcoming Redmi K30.

The smartphone is likely to be released in two variants – one with support for 4G and the second one with 5G support. Along with the Redmi K30, the brand is expected to introduce its Pro version as well. We can expect the company to equip the K30 with a Snapdragon 7-series processor and the Pro variant of the smartphone is expected to get a Snapdragon 8-series chipset.

The predecessors of the Redmi K30, the Redmi K20 and K20 Pro were introduced in the Indian market at INR 19,999 and INR 24,999 respectively. It is for sure that the Redmi K30 series will be priced slightly on the higher side. More details on the upcoming smartphones are expected to be revealed by the company in the coming weeks.
