New spy shots of the MY2023 Hyundai Verna are making rounds on the internet. In the spy photos, the new model of the Verna sedan can be seen sporting the Accent badge, as it is sold as Accent in some of the global markets. But when this new Hyundai will make its way to the Indian market it will sport the Verna badging.
The new-gen Hyundai carries a sensuous sporty design identity. Three light panels create a connected beam and act as an identifier. The front grille of the new Hyundai Verna comprises a centre and side design element. The fog lamps are hosted in the outer grille adding to its cohesive dynamic proportions.
3D exterior panel textures are created using the parametric design language on the Verna. This provides a distinctive look which is parallel with their global design direction. The side wheel arch is angled outward, texture on the front section is curved, but is curved at the rear. It converges onto the taillamps at the end and the cowl panel has a rectangular stance.
The tail lamp on the new Verna seems to be inspired by Elantra’s H-shaped fitment. The turn indicators are built into the central tail light unit. Reversing lights are installed beneath the vehicle. Reflectors are placed on the mesh that surrounds the body-coloured faux skid plate.
The sunroof is a welcome addition to the new Verna. It allows natural light to enter the cabin and enhances the experience. The bonnet design is limited to a four-flowing line texture. The absence of the lower mesh and the lean front bumper enhance the front grille design.
The new Hyundai Verna is offered in 4 trims, SX and SX (O) leading the pack. The top variants are expected to come equipped with a 1.5-litre turbo petrol engine and are also expected to come with ADAS features. EX and S variants would be powered by the 1.5-litre natural aspirated petrol engine. The turbo petrol engine will make a max power of 160 PS and the NA (Naturally Aspirated) petrol engine will make a max power of 115 PS.
