The SUV of Scooters Launched in India at Rs 1.25 lakhsReport

River Indie, popularly known as the SUV of scooters, has been officially launched with a price tag of Rs. 1.25 lakhs (ex-showroom). A Bengaluru-based startup has created this all-electric scooter, which is available in three colours: Monsoon Blue, Spring Yellow, and Summer Red.

The scooter has a 4 kWh battery pack and a riding range of 120 kilometres on a single charge. The Indie can be charged from 0 to 80% in 5 hours using a standard charger.

The electric motor has a power output of 6.7 kW and a peak torque output of 26 Nm. It accelerates from 0 to 60 km/h in 3.9 seconds and has a top speed of 90 km/h. There are three riding modes on the scooter: Eco, Ride, and Rush.

Both the battery and the scooter are covered by a 5-year/50,000-kilometer warranty from the Indian EV manufacturer. When it comes to styling, the scooter looks quite quirky and futuristic at the same time. The manufacturer’s primary focus when designing this scooter appears to be on the practicality factor.

It has 14-inch front and rear alloy wheels and a combined braking system. A 240mm front disc brake and a 200mm rear disc brake handle braking duties. It has 43 litres of under-seat storage, two pannier mounts, a glove box with a capacity of 12 litres, and a bag hook.

The electric scooter comes standard with front and rear foot pegs and a 20-inch floor bed. A telescopic front suspension and a twin hydraulic rear suspension handle the suspension duties.

It has a 6-inch colour display, a forward & reverse park assist, two USB ports, and a centre stand for convenience. The scooter will go up against the Ather 450X, Bajaj Chetak, Ola S1 Pro, and TVS iQube S.
