2023 Hyundai Verna Sedan Gets Level 2 ADAS For India – Report

Hyundai has revealed new information about the upcoming sixth-generation Verna, which will go on sale on March 21. The automaker has now confirmed some of the safety systems aboard the sedan, which also includes Level 2 ADAS. After the recently facelifted Honda City, the Verna will be the segment’s second sedan to receive ADAS features.

The Verna will include ADAS with features such as forward collision warning and avoidance. This includes automobiles, pedestrians, bicycles, and junction-turning assistance. In addition to it, it will also come with a lane departure warning, lane keep assist, blind spot collision warning, a driver attention warning, adaptive cruise control with stop and go, high beam assist, lead vehicle departure alert and rear cross-traffic warning.

The 2023 Hyundai Verna will come standard with six airbags, seatbelt reminders and 3-point seatbelts. Hyundai’s 6th gen compact sedan will include ISOFIX child seat anchorages, keyless entry and automatic headlamps. Some of the other key safety features include the likes of Hill start assist, stability control, front and rear parking sensors, cornering lights, tyre pressure monitoring system, and all-wheel disc brakes.

Hyundai has previewed the design of its upcoming sedan in official design sketches along with undisguised models. The new Verna has been designed in the brand’s parametric style.

Meanwhile, the cabin also gets a new design dashboard with a 10.25-inch touchscreen. A single free-standing binnacle will also house the digital instrument cluster. Touch-sensitive controls for the air conditioner will also serve as controls for the infotainment unit. Hyundai has also confirmed that the sedan will be equipped with a Bose audio system as well as heated and ventilated seats.

The new Verna will be offered in four trim levels: S, EX, SX, and SX (O). It will be available with two engines: a 1.5-litre NA petrol and a new 1.5-litre turbocharged petrol. A 6-speed manual transmission, CVT (NA petrol only), and a 7-speed DCT will be available as transmission options (turbo-petrol only).
