Coronavirus Lockdown: BharatBenz Extends Warranty in India

Since the nationwide lockdown to curb the coronavirus has caused a huge deal of problems for the customers when it comes to the due services as well as the warranty of their vehicles, several auto manufacturers have come to their aid with BharatBenz being the latest. The Chennai-based brand has announced relief measures for its truck customers that are stuck in different parts of the nation.

The parent company Daimler India Commercial Vehicles (DICV) has decided to extend the warranty and free services for its trucks and buses for two additional months in the light of the lockdown. The company has stated that all BharatBenz vehicles with warranty/free services expiring between 15th March 2020 and 15th May 2020 will now have an extra two months leeway.

Commenting on the relief measures offered, Satyakam Arya, Managing Director and CEO, Daimler India Commercial Vehicles said, “Even during the lockdown, some of our BharatBenz customers are transporting essential commodities in order to support the community. To support them in turn, we decided to extend both service and warranty repairs by two months.”

In addition to this, the brand has also decided to offer immediate basic requirements to its BharatBenz truck drivers that are stuck across the nation and in dire need of daily commodities. The brand has partnered up with Hindustan Petroleum Corporation Limited (HPCL) for the cause. The stuck drivers can dial a helpline number and request for basic facilities. The nearest HPCL team will take care of the essential requirements requested by the BharatBenz truck drivers.

The automotive manufacturer has also offered its bit to the Chief Minister and Prime Minister Relief Fund for tackling the COIVD-19 situation at hand. The brand has also come forward for the donation of ventilators, PPE kits, masks and other safety requirements to the organizations as well as medical teams.
