Royal Enfield Hunter 350 Beats Honda CB350 Series – Report

The Hunter 350 was introduced with great fanfare by Royal Enfield in August 2022. The Hunter 350 is one of the most desirable motorcycles on the market, with an aggressive starting price of Rs. 1.49 lakh (ex-showroom). In August 2022, the Chennai-based manufacturer eclipsed Classic 350 as the brand’s best-seller.

Royal Enfield managed to register a total of 17,118 Hunter 350 units in September 2022. While it did not become the most-sold motorcycle for the brand. The Classic 350 sold 25,571 units, it did outsell all its main competitors, including the Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350 RS, which sold a total of 3,980 units.

The Hunter 350’s good ride quality is one of the main reasons for its success. As the lightest Royal Enfield motorcycle, it also has good cornering characteristics. The Hunter 350 shares the same twin cradle chassis as the latest Classic 350 and Meteor 350, and many mechanical components.

Despite sharing many similarities with its 350cc siblings, the Royal Enfield Hunter 350 is less expensive. Compared to the Honda H’ness CB350, which retails for around Rs. 2 lakh for the DLX variant. Hunter 350 is cheaper, making it an attractive deal for many customers looking to own a retro-styled motorcycle.

Honda H’ness CB350 and CB350 RS are only available through Honda’s BigWing outlets. Whereas the Hunter 350 benefits from Royal Enfield’s wider distribution. A 349cc single-cylinder air and oil-cooled fuel-injected engine powers it. The engine comes with a 5-speed transmission system that produces 20.2 bhp and a peak torque of 27 Nm.

It is available in three variations: Retro, Metro, and Metro Rebel. RE is expected to launch the Super Meteor 650 flagship cruiser next, with a production version of the SG650 concept not far behind. The new generation Bullet 350 is also in the works, and it could be released in the coming months.
