Blacksmith B3 Electric Scooter Officially Teased; Launch Next Year

Blacksmith B3 electric scooter has been officially teased by the Chennai-based electric two-wheeler manufacturer. The scooter is expected to hit the markets in 2020 while getting the same engine specifications as that of the Blacksmith B2 electric motorcycle.

Retaining the same unique styling when compared to the B2, the Blacksmith B3 will feature an apron-mounted headlight at the front. The front fender of the electric scooter features garnishing at the top which further covers the wider area. The windscreen equipped at the front accentuates its authentic scooter styling while at the same time protects from the windblast.

The LCD instrument panel situated at the handlebar will offer real-time updates about the battery and the engine bits. In addition to this, the panel will be offering every detail of the scooter such as distance travelled, speed as well as features a clock. The brand has also equipped the Blacksmith B3 with a turn-by-turn navigation system.

The single-seat saddle has been given a boxy design while the scooter also features a rear backrest for extra comfort. The flowing design at the rear with stripes adds to its superior styling while the all-black colour offers it an exceptional look. The brand has equipped the side panel of the scooter with a 3D “Blacksmith” branding.

Powering the Blacksmith B3 is a 72V lithium-ion battery that generates a maximum power of 19.7 HP and a peak torque of 96 Nm. The company claimed a range of scooter scales at 120 km while the battery requires four hours for a full charge.

The suspension duties on the scooter are handled by conventional forks at the front while the rear gets twin-sided springs. The Blacksmith B3 features disc brakes on either end while the brand has equipped the scooter with CBS.

The official launch details of the electric scooter have yet to be revealed by the brand. It is also unknown at the moment whether the Blacksmith B3 will be eligible for subsidy under the FAME II scheme initiated by the Indian government.
