Bengaluru-based electric scooter maker, Bounce, has introduced its first e-scooter, the Infinity E1, to the Indian two-wheeler market. This is the country’s first electric scooter with a battery swapping option and comes with a one-of-a-kind “Battery-as-a-Service” subscription plan. The Bounce Infinity E1 scooter is priced at Rs 68,999 with a battery and Rs 45,099 without a battery, and both prices are ex-showroom.
As per the company’s offer, the buyers have two options: either buy the scooter with a battery and charger or without a battery. In this scheme, buyers without battery scooters have to opt for the company’s “Battery-as-a-Service” plan and can use Bounce’s battery swapping network across the 10 major cities with 900 locations to run their scooters. They need to visit the brand’s charging stations and take charged batteries after leaving drained out batteries there.
Moreover, the cost of replacing the battery at the charging station will be around Rs 35 per swap. Bounce claims that it will reduce operating costs by up to 40% when compared to traditional scooters. The Infinity E1 electric scooter is offered in five attractive colour options like Sparkle Black, Comet Grey, Sporty Red, Pearl White, and Desat Silver. Interested customers can pre-book the scooter on the company’s official website by paying a minimal amount of Rs 499 as token money.
In terms of design and styling, the Infinity E1 is loaded with features like a fully digital instrument console, an LED projector headlamp, a side-stand sensor, an anti-theft lock, inbuilt helmet storage, over-voltage/under-voltage protection and more. While speaking of performance, the Infinity E1 comes equipped with a 2 kWh lithium-ion battery that takes 4 hours of home charging time and gives a range of 85 km on a single charge. According to Bounce, the scooter generates 1.50 kW of nominal motor power and 85 Nm of torque and the top speed it offers is 65kmph.
