Yamaha India recently unveiled their plans of launching the BS6-compliant motorcycles from November 2019 onwards. In addition to this, the brand has also revealed that they will be launching the BS6 Yamaha scooters starting from December 2019. The process will be carried out in phases. The complete scooter lineup will be launched with a BS6 engine before the new emission norms come into effect from April 1, 2020.
The brand will be focusing on unveiling the BS6-compliant affordable scooters in the initial stage while the higher-spec scooters will be launched shortly after them. As per the reports, the brand is also focusing on offering environment-friendly mobility solutions to the Indian audience.
Yamaha has made an announcement that like the motorcycles, the price tags for the scooters will also be hiked by 10% going all the way to 15% to make them BS6-complaint. The entry-level 113cc BS6 Yamaha scooters will be officially available at a price tag ranging between INR 60,000-65,000 (ex-showroom). The price tags will vary with different scooter variants that are equipped with different premium features. The brand might discontinue certain features on its motorcycle and scooter lineup to keep the prices under check.
