Ola Electric launched its two stylish e-scooters, the S1 and S1 Pro, on August 15, 2021, and buyers are eagerly waiting for the deliveries of both. The second buying window for S1 and S1 Pro electric scooters has been pushed back by a month and a half.
Initially, the second window for purchasing e-scooters was set to start on November 1, but now it will begin on December 16. This comes after the Bengaluru-based EV company missed its October delivery target. However, the brand said that the booking date was moved back to accommodate rising demand and to shorten the time between booking and delivery of the scooters.
Bhavish Aggarwal, the company’s CEO, has published a new video on social media to demonstrate the performance of these new electric scooters. This video shows the Ola S1 Pro performing stunts that were previously thought to be impossible with electric scooters.
While the Ola S1 has a range of about 120 kilometres on a single charge, the more expensive S1 Pro has a range of 180 kilometres on a single charge. The former is powered by a 2.98 kWh battery pack, while the latter is powered by a 3.97 kWh battery. Both scooters use an 8.5 kW electric motor that produces 11 hp and 58 Nm of max torque.
The S1 and S1 Pro are now being built in Ola’s recently opened plant in Hosur, which spans 100 acres. It is quite exceptional that this industrial plant is entirely run by women. It was also announced that, when fully operational, Ola Electric would employ 10,000 people, making it the world’s largest women-only factory.
Interested purchasers can still make a reservation for the next purchase window by paying a nominal fee of Rs 499 on the official company website. In the following weeks, the company will approach its clients to organise scooter test rides.
