The Honda Activa 6G has been officially launched by the brand at a price tag of INR 63,912 for the standard variant and INR 65,412 for the deluxe variant. The prices mentioned here are ex-showroom. Equipped with a BS6-compliant engine, the Honda Activa 6G has been offered a premium of INR 7,500 over its BS4 5G variant.
Complying to the new and more stringent emission norms, the Honda Activa 6G has been equipped with a 109.51cc engine when compared to the BS4 variant’s 109.19cc engine. In addition to this, the brand has equipped the engine with fuel injection technology for better fuel delivery while the BS4 engine featured a carburettor fuel system.
With the addition of a new BS6-compliant engine, the power and torque figures of Honda Activa 6G have been reduced minimally though the fuel efficiency has been increased by 10%. The 6G model is capable of offering maximum power of 7.79HP at 8,000rpm and a peak torque of 8.79Nm at 5,250rpm. In comparison, the Activa 5G with a BS4-compliant engine was good for a maximum power of 7.96HP at 7,500rpm and 9Nm of torque at 5,500rpm.
The suspension duties on the updated product are now handled by telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a 3-Step adjustable spring-loaded hydraulic suspension. The brand has further shod the Activa 6G with a 12-inch tyre at the front as compared to 10-inch front wheel offered to the BS4-compliant variant. The scooter has a best-in-class ground clearance of 171mm while the kerb weight stands at 107kgs.
Another feature addition offered to the Honda Activa 6G is an external fuel filler for the ease of use. The scooter has been equipped with ESP technology that offers a silent start mechanism in addition to reducing the overall friction. Taking inspiration from the Honda Activa 125 BS6 variant, the brand has also equipped the 6G variant with a pass light switch which can be operated from the button placed near the ignition.
The Honda Activa 6G will compete in the market with the likes of TVS Jupiter which has also been recently updated according to the BS6 emission norms. The customers can avail the Activa 6G in 6 striking colours namely Dazzle Yellow Metallic, Precious Pearl White, Pearl Spartan Red, Matte Axis Grey Metallic, Glitter Blue Metallic, and Black.
