According to recent reports, four units of Honda Forza 300 have been recently delivered by the brand marking its entry into the mid-size premium scooter segment in the Indian market. The delivered models are BS4-compliant and were pre-booked on special order by the customers. Since the scooter has gathered a worthy audience response from being displayed at the Honda Big Wing showroom in Gurugram, the brand will officially launch the BS6 model of the scooter in India sometime in the financial year 2021.
Commenting on the details, Yadvinder Singh Guleria, Senior Vice President – Sales and Marketing, Honda Motorcycle & Scooter India said, “Encouraged by the excitement received from customers for Forza 300 displayed at Honda BigWing, Gurugram (which were pre-booked), Honda decided to introduce it in India. We are pleased to announce that we have delivered the first lot of 4 units to our customers. Moving forward, we will announce the Euro 5 compliant version in FY 2021.”
Powering the first-ever maxi scooter from Honda is a 279cc, liquid-cooled, fuel-injected engine that is capable of offering maximum power of 24.8 bhp @ 7000 rpm and a peak torque of 27.2 Nm @ 5,750 rpm. The engine comes equipped with a CVT transmission mated to an automatic centrifugal clutch.
The brand has equipped the Honda Forza 300 with a Honda Selectable Torque Control (HSTC) that allows the rider to regain the rear wheel traction for extra smooth handling on the roads while controlling the torque produced with the help of fuel injection. The Forza 300 gets a LED headlight set up at the front while the large windscreen is further adjustable. In addition to this, the maxi-scooter gets huge under-seat storage capable of storing two helmets at a time.
The suspension duties on the maxi scooter are handled by 33mm telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with 7-step adjustable twin shock absorbers. The braking power is offered by disc brakes at either side mated to a dual-channel ABS as standard. The scooter features 120/70-R15 front tyre and a 140/70-R14 tyre at the rear. The brand has further equipped the scooter with a smart key that offers control over the ignition, under-seat storage as well as the fuel compartment.
The brand has not yet revealed the price tag of the Honda Forza 300 though new details are bound to arrive at a later stage.
