According to the latest details available, the Bajaj Chetak deliveries are all set to commence in the last week of January 2020. The debut electric scooter from the brand reincarnated with the Chetak branding is one of the most anticipated offerings from the brand whose price is expected to be revealed shortly. Bajaj Auto has also promised to begin the bookings of the e-scooter in the coming days after the official unveiling of its price tag. The deliveries will first commence in Pune and Bangalore.
Being christened as one of the premium offerings from the brand, the Bajaj Chetak features splendid design while gets state-of-the-art features. The brand has equipped the upcoming electric scooter with a Vespa-inspired design language. The 2020 model of the Bajaj Chetak also features an onboard Intelligent Battery Management System (IBMS).
The 4kW electric motor offered to the scooter is further mated to an IP67-rated lithium-ion battery. The rider can operate the scooter in two riding modes namely: Eco and Sport. The former is capable of offering a maximum range of 95km while the total range for the latter stands at 85km, with a single charge of the battery. The company-claimed top speed of the electric scooter stands at 60kmph.
Coming to the neo-retro styling, the Bajaj Chetak features an LED headlight mated to LED DRLs. The upcoming electric scooter from the brand has been equipped with feather-touch illuminated switchgear as well as a fully-digital instrument panel.
The brand has equipped the scooter with a disc brake setup at the front while the rear wheel features a drum brake setup mated to CBS (Combined Braking System). The unique alloy wheels are shod on MRF Zapper K-tyres at either side. Bajaj Auto has not yet revealed the pricing information of the upcoming Chetak scoter though one can expect it to be priced at around INR 1.30 lakh (on-road).
