Yamaha Motors has launched the Monster Energy MotoGP Edition of its Cygnus Ray ZR scooter in the Indian market. The special edition model gets a price tag of INR 59,028, getting a premium of INR 1500 over its standard variant which is available at INR 57,528. The Yamaha Ray ZR Monster Energy Edition features MotoGP livery, which is the part of Yamaha’s 2019 campaign called “The Call of the Blue 2.0”.
The campaign represents the brand’s product planning capabilities in addition to marketing and engagement strategies. The customers will get complimentary racing t-shirts with every purchase of the Yamaha Ray ZR Monster Energy Edition.
The MotoGP edition for the Cygnus Ray ZR features an all-black design language with contrast blue detailing on the body panels. The front fascia and the rear panels feature MotoGP decals while the brand has placed the Monster Edition logos on either side of the front fender. On the other hand, the rear fender of the scooter gets ENEOS, Yamalube and Monster Energy stickers.
Apart from the addition of the MotoGP livery, the Yamaha Ray ZR Monster Energy Edition remains the same in terms of the technical specifications. Powering the special edition scooter is the same 113cc single-cylinder air-cooled engine capable of churning a maximum power of 7.2HP and 8.1Nm of utmost torque. The scooter features telescopic suspension at the front while the rear gets a single-sided shock absorber. The braking duties are handled by a disc brake at the front and a drum brake at the rear.
