Along with their flagship smartphone, the iPhone 11 Pro Max, Apple has officially unveiled the Watch Series 5. The latest Watch Series 5 comes featured with an Always-On Retina display, a built-in compass, international emergency calling and more. The new Watch Series 5’s Always-On Retina display will show the time and important information at all time. Apple also says that they have optimised every watch face for this display.
The smart feature of the Watch Series 5 is that screen intelligently dims when a user’s wrist is down and returns to full brightness with a raise or a tap and this has been made possible through technologies like low-temperature polysilicon and oxide display (LTPO), efficient power management integrated circuit, new ambient light sensor and ultra-low power display driver. The in-built battery on the watch claims to deliver 18-hours of battery life. The Apple Watch Series 5 is powered by WatchOS6.
This time, the Apple Watch also comes with a built-in compass. The new compass app can be used to see the heading, incline, latitude, longitude and current elevation. The users can even add one of three new Compass complications to their watch face to see directions in one go. The cellular models of Watch Series 5 also come with international emergency calling feature. The latest Apple smartwatch will be available in an all-new titanium case material (natural titanium and space black titanium) alongside the classic styles like the stainless steel case in gold, silver and space black.
The Aluminium case in silver, gold and space grey is now made from 7000 series aluminium. It will also be available in a white ceramic case along with a new sport loop and a wide range of great new band colours. The Watch Series 5 (GPS) gets a starting price of INR 40,900 and the Watch Series 5 (GPS+Cellular) starts at INR 49,900. Both models will be available in India in the coming days.
