Yamaha R15 Sales Report: All-New R15 Version 3.0 was launched a few months back at INR 1.25 lakh. This marked the entry of R15 among premium lightweight SuperSport motorcycles of India. More than that, this popular sportbike moniker has achieved a sales number of 6034 units in April 2018.
Start of the new financial year could have never been better than this for Yamaha as not just R15 but FZ series also scored impressive numbers. The credit goes to dual disc version of FZ-S and all new Yamaha R15 V3. Both bikes flaunt premium paint selection, sporty riding dynamics, engine refinement and value for money performance.
It may feel like Yamaha R15 is just a 150cc motorcycle but list of components makes it better than most bigger displacement bikes priced around this segment lack premium feel that one gets through this motorcycle. R15 V3 is powered by a 155.1cc, variable valve actuation supporting engine.
This motor comes with liquid cooling, fuel injection and much more power than any other production motorcycle. Buyers get 19.04 BHP at 10,000 rpm and 15 Nm at 8,500 rpm. The technology named VVA helps rider achieve impressive levels of performance on both low and high end of the curve.
The third version is equipped with LED front headlights, rear R1 inspired wings, all new fairing design, and aerodynamically more efficient front end. One also gets an option between Thunder Grey and Racing Blue shade from Yamaha.
They played safe and continued with R15 V2 and R15-S for better sales and more user-centric R15 models. Both lower placed models are available at all dealerships and offer easy riding position when compared to their new version. R15 V3 comes with a fully digital console that offers clearer than ever readings, welcome message and important information.
