Yamaha XTZ 125 Adventure Motorcycle Spotted in India

Yamaha XTZ 125 was recently spotted wearing red testing plates with Maharashtra registration number. The bike is seen without camouflage, pointing the same to be an international market variant that is being tested for different weather conditions. The products that are India-specific carry loads of camouflage to hide the exact design lines until the launch date arrives. The motocross styling is pretty genuine while black shade with red highlights look awesome on the motorcycle. It is seen with a full-length seat and heavy duty carrier for luggage carrying purposes. The front fender is placed much higher than everyday 125cc bikes.

Yamaha XTZ 125 is powered by a 124cc, 4-stroke motor producing 12.5 HP at 8000 rpm and 11.5 Nm at 6500 rpm. The carbureted motorcycle is available with a 5-speed gearbox and air-cooling as standard. The suspension setup is telescopic forks for the front and mono-shock at the rear, both offering extended travel for all-terrain riding. The bike weighs just 118 kg and offers 260mm of impressive ground clearance to prove its purpose. The fuel tank capacity is limited to 11-litres while seat height is genuinely good at 840mm. The high seat height can still offer better foot placement due to thin nature of the seat.

The front rim measures 21-inch while rear seen here is 18-inch in diameter. Both the wheels are available with a spoke-type arrangement to absorb the bumps in a better way. KTM recently launched the first-ever purpose-built 125cc Duke in India and Yamaha could be the second one to take this further ahead with the XTZ 125. It weighs 30 kg less in comparison to the Duke and almost 20 kg lower than an average 150cc motorcycle in India. Performance may not be a problem for beginners while the availability of lights and indicators further make it road legal for all day use.
