2019 Ducati Scrambler 800 series has been launched in India, starting at INR 7.89 lakh for the fun-filled Scrambler Icon. The next variant on the list is Scrambler Full Throttle, priced at INR 8.92 lakh. The more specific Scrambler Cafe Racer is available for INR 9.78 lakh while the top-spec, full-blown Scrambler Desert Sled can be had for INR 9.93 lakh. All the prices are ex-showroom and remain the same all across the country.
The Full Throttle variant will arrive in June 2019 while all others will be ready for deliveries in the coming days. In comparison to the 2018 Scrambler series, the price jump in all the models is different, ranging between INR 39,000-61,000 (ex-showroom).
The 2019 Ducati Scrambler 800 series feature additional safety through cornering ABS, more street-specific presence with 10-spoke alloy wheels and increased comfort through a better seat. The models are now compliant with the Ducati Multimedia System, featuring a screen in place of the regular console with functions like calls, messages, and information regarding the music playback.
The basic body styling of all four models remains similar to the older variants while increased attention to detail is visible through the headlight area and choice of graphics. All the motorcycles are powered by an 803cc twin-cylinder engine, producing 73.4 HP of power and 67 Nm of torque.
The Scramblers are unique in themselves and no direct rival for all these machines exist in the Indian market. The Icon comes with a street-bike character while Full Throttle is based on the design lines of a drag racer. The iconic Desert Sled is a great machine for some off-road fun while Cafe Racer is great for highway riding and niche styling. The price difference of INR 2.04 lakh between the Icon and Desert Sled comes through the use of sophisticated components and dedicated off-road mode on the latter.
