Jawa Classic and Jawa 42 to Retain 293cc Engine: Contrary to the ongoing rumours, Classic Legends will not be offering the Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Classic motorcycles with a higher displacement 334cc engine, equipped on the recently-launched Perak Bobber. The recent news articles have not been entertained by the brand and they have released an official statement on their Instagram account disregarding all the rumours of the 293cc Jawa models getting a higher displacement engine.
According to the brand, the Jawa Forty Two and Jawa Classic will continue to retain the 293cc engine and it will be made BS6-compliant in the coming months. One can expect the brand to launch the BS6-compliant models of both motorcycles a few days before the implementation of the new emission norms in the country on April 1, 2020. Both the debut motorcycles from the brand have been developed to specially cater to the enthusiasts looking for relaxed riding and offering a higher displacement engine will stray them away from their ultimate goal.
Commenting on disregarding the rumours, Jawa Officials stated – “Contrary to a few articles, the Jawa and Forty Two will continue to be powered with the 293cc engine which will be ready for BSVI norms when it comes into play. We urge our customers not to be misled by any false news or rumours being spread.”
