Bajaj Dominar 400 recently achieved the feat of jumping over the sales number of both Royal Enfield Himalayan and KTM 390 twins combined. The new model of Dominar registered 1,888 units in May 2019 while the KTM 390 series was good for 396 units, and Himalayan posted 1,192 units during the same period. Combined, both the bikes were good for 1,588 units, getting exactly 300 units less than the sales number of Dominar.
The updated 373.2cc engine for the Bajaj Dominar now supports DOHC and produces 40HP of maximum power and 35 Nm of maximum torque. The engine is mated to a 6-speed gearbox. Dominar 400 is priced at INR 1.74 lakh, proving itself to be the best motorcycle that one can buy under INR 2 lakh. Those looking for a premium faired option can get their hands on the new Gixxer SF 250 for INR 1.71 lakh (ex-showroom). Except for the Bajaj Dominar, no other product at this price point has ever touched the 40HP output mark in India.
