BMW F850GS Adventure has been launched in India for INR 15.40 lakh (ex-showroom Delhi). The “Style Rallye” theme on the motorcycle is clearly visible through the use of blue and white paint, further using larger windscreen and golden rim finish to complete the package that costs approx INR 2.50 lakh over the regular GS variant.
The BMW GSA series bikes are available with better dynamics and here on the F850GS Adventure, one can find a better seat, a huge 23-litre fuel tank, added crash protection, and 875mm of seat height for a safer sitting position on rough surfaces.
The “Comfort Seat” accessory available on the regular GS is seen as standard on this model. All the additions result in 15kg of weight gain, taking the total number to 244kg for the BMW F850GS Adventure. Those who love detailing in equipment will love to know that even the gear and rear brake lever on both the sides are adjustable on the model.
The bash plate and knuckle guards are present on the model as standard while the windscreen is adjustable for different riders and their height. The 853cc, twin cylinder engine on the motorcycle stays the same in terms of power production, claiming 95HP at 8250 rpm and 92Nm at 6250 rpm.
Rain and road riding modes are available as standard while others can be had through the optional package on the F850GSA. Safety features include cornering ABS and even BMW’s patented traction control system.
The rivals for the motorcycle includes Triumph Tiger 800 and Honda Africa Twin, with the former offering base variants like the one seen from BMW (F750GS). The 6.5-inch all-digital instrument console with smartphone integration further makes riding the BMW F850GSA a fun bike. The capabilities of an adventure motorcycle are truly unmatched to all other body types.
