Honda NX200 Name Trademarked in India: Last year, Honda 2-Wheelers finally entered the sub-200cc motorcycle segment with the launch of Hornet 2.0 with an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.26 lakhs. In one of the latest updates, Honda has trademarked a new brand name for an upcoming product for the Indian markets. Known as NX200, it is expected to be an adventure version of the Honda Hornet 2.0 and once launched, it would be competing directly with the Hero XPulse 200.
Currently, except for the name, we don’t have any other concrete details with us. It is being reported that Honda NX200 would be based on the China-spec CBF190X like the Hornet 2.0, which is based on the Honda CB190, an exclusive product for the Chinese markets. As far as the official launch is concerned, the NX200 is expected to launch in India by the end of this year.
If we talk about the technical specifications, the Honda NX200 would be powered by the same BS6-compliant 184.4cc, single-cylinder, fuel-injected, air-cooled engine which generates a maximum power of 17 HP at 8500 rpm along with a peak torque of 16.1 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine would remain mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Coming to the hardware components, the upcoming Honda NX200 is expected to come equipped with USD (Upside Down) front forks and a monoshock at the rear end. The braking performance of the bike is expected to be handled by a 276mm front disc brake and a 220mm rear disc brake. In terms of safety, like the Hornet 2.0, NX200 is also expected to launch with a single-channel ABS unit as standard.
