Suzuki Burgman Street (also called Burgman 125) has been unveiled at Auto Expo 2018. This ends the scope of 2018 Suzuki Swish 125 for India. Fans would get this exclusive nameplate that exists in no other country.
Burgman is a popular series with power scooters that fall between 125-600cc but Street moniker is used with this name for the first time. The rear face of Burgman Street shows clean design lines with wide seat, sporty exhaust and integrated turn indicators. The body seems wider than standard scooters and can be seen in a Matte finish.
Burgman Street is powered by a 124.3cc, single cylinder engine producing 8.6 HP at 6500 rpm and 10.2 Nm at 5000 rpm. The moto scooter look is prominent with huge body integrated headlight and forward biased design with uniquely designed handlebar cover.
The 125cc engine places it against Honda Grazia. Also, premium Vespa scooters (SXL and VXL series) are also on the rival list of Suzuki Burgman Street.
Buyers will get an all-digital console, 12V charging socket, LED rear lights, front disc brake, telescopic forks, tubeless tyres and alloy wheels. Part sharing is the most important thing for Suzuki India and you can see this trend through engine from Access 125 and rear view mirrors from Gixxer.
In terms of price, it will be placed higher than all scooters except Vespa and Aprilia range for sure. We can expect INR 5000 more than Access 125 for Burgman Street. It will be available in both drum and disc brake variant (for front tyre) for Indian market.
Scooter segment is now equally performing to Indian motorcycle segment with a large number of options in the top selling list. Honda currently holds the maximum share in Indian scooter market with Activa being the most selling product.
