According to recent reports, the Haojue DR300 is all set to go on sale in the Chinese markets. The motorcycle is widely known across the world as the Suzuki GSX-S300. The brand had officially showcased the Haojue DR300 back at the Chongqing Mobo Fair in 2018.
The upcoming motorcycle has been derived from the joint venture between Suzuki and its Chinese partner Haojue. The resultant joint company christened as ‘Changzhou Haojue Suzuki Motorcycle Co. Ltd.’ has been known for dealing with small-displacement Suzuki bikes. The Haojue DR300 was put into production back in March 2020 while the brand hasn’t officially revealed the prices of the bike as of yet.
Coming to the design language, the motorcycle features an aggressive streetfighter-inspired outlook which has been imparted an LED headlight set up at the front mated to LED DRLs. The brand has equipped the DR300 with a small visor at the front which has been further shod with the brand’s logo.
The motorcycle has been imparted a sharp fuel tank design with a fuel tank capacity of 16 litres. The muscular profile of the street machine is further accentuated with finely-toned tank extensions as well as the minimalistic graphic detailing.
The Haojue DR300 (Suzuki GSX-S300) has been equipped with clip-on handlebar units while the brand has offered the bike with a fully-digital instrument unit capable of offering apt riding data. Powering the motorcycle is a 298cc, liquid-cooled, twin-cylinder engine that is good for churning out 29.23 HP at 8,500 rpm and a peak torque of 27.8 Nm at 6,500 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 6-speed transmission.
The kerb weight of the DR300 stands at 177 kg while the wheelbase stands at 1,420 mm. The motorcycle gets USD forks at the front sourced from KYB while the rear has been mated to a 7-step preload-adjustable monoshock. The braking duties are handled by disc brakes at either side mated to dual-channel ABS from BOSCH. In terms of pricing, it is being rumoured that the Haojue DR300 would be priced in the Chinese markets around CNY 33,000-35,000 (approx INR 3.54 lakh-3.76 lakh).
