2019 Yamaha NMAX 155 Patent Images Leaked

Initially showcased at the 2016 Auto Expo, the latest images of the 2019 Yamaha NMAX scooter have surfaced online. The leaked patent images reveal a host of appreciated features for the NMAX. According to the reports, the brand is also planning to launch the 155cc scooter in India this year though, no official confirmation has been made on the same. Another 155cc scooter, Yamaha Aerox S was imported to Chennai, though, that was just for the purpose of showcasing.

The slim front end design of the 2019 Yamaha NMAX features a redesigned headlight unit as well as the windscreen. The indicators on the scooter have also been repositioned to the lower edge giving it a unique look while the front of the 2019 NMAX also features a closed storage unit for the necessities such as mobile phones. In addition to these features, customers can also avail the scooter with an additional charging point near the closed storage below the handlebar.

The braking duties are handled by disc brakes on either end while for the additional safety, the 2019 Yamaha NMAX will also feature ABS. The scooter features the same single seat saddle though, the rear profile has been redesigned a bit. The NMAX gets telescopic forks at the front and a side mounted monoshock suspension at the rear.

Powering the Yamaha NMAX is a 155cc liquid-cooled, 4-valve engine capable of churning a maximum power of 15 HP at 8,000 rpm and an utmost torque of 14.4 Nm at 6,000 rpm. The engine expected on the 2019 Yamaha NMAX will be Euro 5 compliant though no official confirmation has been made yet. If launched in India, the scooter is expected to get an ex-showroom price tag of around INR 1 lakh, and it will compete in the market with the likes of Aprilia SR150 and Piaggio Vespa VXL150.
