According to recent reports, the 7,757 units of Yamaha FZ V3 and FZS V3 that have been manufactured from October 2019 have been recalled by the brand. The motorcycle variants have been specifically recalled to address the issue of “non-fitment of rear side reflector”.
The brand will be calling individual owners of the said motorcycles regarding the issue while the problem will be resolved free of cost. The customers can get their Yamaha FZ V3 and FZS V3 motorcycles fitted with the rear side reflectors at their nearest Yamaha dealerships without any hassle.
One should know that the recalling of the motorcycle variants is carried out only for making them compliant with the mandatory safety norms. The performance of the said motorcycles is nowhere to be affected with the un-addressed issue.
Both the motorcycles have been recently updated in November 2019 with a BS6-compliant engine. Though the updated engine offers lower power and higher torque when compared to the last-gen Yamaha FZ and FZS variants, the compression ratio has also been tweaked from 9.5:1 to 9.6:1.
The 149cc, single-cylinder engine on the BS6 FZ V3 and FZS V3 is capable to offer a maximum power of 12.4hp at 7,250rpm and a peak torque of 13.6Nm at 5,500rpm.
Both the updated FZ variant features the same instrument panel that has been carried forward from the last-gen variant. The braking duties on the motorcycle are handled by disc brakes at either side mated to single-channel ABS as standard.
The Yamaha FZ V3 and FZS V3 feature telescopic forks at the front while the rear has been equipped with a 7-Step adjustable monoshock suspension. The BS6 Yamaha FZ V3 is currently available in the market at a price tag of INR 99,200 (ex-showroom) while the BS6 model of the FZS V3 is currently available at a price tag of INR 1,02,700 (ex-showroom).
