Yamaha recently launched the BS6-compliant FZS V3 in India at an ex-showroom price tag of INR 1.01 lakh. Along with the standard variant of the bike, the brand has also launched the FZS V3 Darknight Edition, which has been priced at INR 1.03 lakh.
Coming to the design of the bike, it is completely unchanged. The BS6-compliant Yamaha FZS V3 continues to feature an LED headlight and an LCD instrument panel. It has a ground clearance of 165mm with a seat height of 790mm. The dimensions of the bike are also the same as it continues to measure 1990mm in length, 780mm in width, and 1080mm in height.
Mechanically, the bike is equipped with a 149cc single-cylinder air-cooled fuel-injected BS6-compliant engine, which produces 12.4HP of maximum power at 7,250 rpm along with a peak torque of 13.6Nm @ 5500 rpm. Comparing with the BS4 model, the power of the bike has been decreased by 0.8HP while there is an increase in torque by 0.8Nm. The engine of the bike comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox.
Speaking about the launch of the new Yamaha FZ-FI and the FZS-FI, Motofumi Shitara, Chairman, Yamaha Motor India Group of companies, said: “As Yamaha reveals from its new product line up, the BS-VI compliant FZ motorcycles will be available across Yamaha showrooms from November 2019. FZ is an iconic brand and many motorcyclists have been brought up well from its cradle. This popularity served more concern to the company while planning for its BS-VI variant. Yamaha strived for optimum cost control and achieved to peg it around 2.5% higher, only to let FZ’s excitement stay unrestrained in India. The new BS-VI models in 150cc are also expected to yield Yamaha’s strong presence in the deluxe class 2W category.”
