Yamaha India handled the post GST price drop in the most effective manner, revising prices for entire lineup and displaying the amount saved on its right with a buzzer on the official website. The prices slashed were most visible for Yamaha R15 and FZ25, bringing more benefits in cities where the prices were high when compared to Delhi.
Yamaha FZ25 was priced at INR 1,20,385 before GST while a clear reduction of INR 1050 brought the current price to INR 1,19,335 (ex-showroom Delhi). The same difference is INR 2111 in Maharashtra where the ex-showroom price was INR 1,20,446 and came down to INR 1,18,335.
Yamaha R15 V2 is now priced @ INR 1,18,838 (ex-showroom Delhi)
You will be surprised to know that reduction in price was huge in Madhya Pradesh, replacing the old price of INR 1,25,904 with INR 1,19,835. This resulted in savings of INR 6069 for a buyer in Madhya Pradesh. Yamaha R15 v2.0 just had a reduction of INR 950 in its ex-showroom Delhi price while the price in Madhya Pradesh saw a fall of INR 5923.
Now both Delhi and Bhopal will have an ex-showroom price of INR 1,18,838 for Yamaha R15 V2. The benefits of GST differ from state to state as those with a large amount of tax will even pay the same amount as the neighboring state with lower value.
Yamaha FZ25 is now priced @ INR 1,19,335 (ex-showroom Delhi)
Yamaha FZ25 is powered by a 249cc, single cylinder oil cooled engine producing 20.69 BHP at 8000 rpm and 20 Nm at 6000 rpm. The engine comes mated to a 5-speed gearbox. It is the most powerful motorcycle in the local production lineup, claiming a 0-100 kmph sprint in just 8.58 seconds.
R15 now comes in two different variants: R15 V2 & R15S, using the same 149.8 cc engine producing 17 PS at 8500 rpm and 15 Nm at 7500 rpm. The change in price will benefit every state as reduction of two percent is compulsory while other charges of various states were even reduced to nil with the implementation of GST.
