13,348 Units of Yamaha FZ25 and Fazer25 Recalled in India
As a part of the precautionary measure, Yamaha India has issued a recall for its 250cc models – FZ25 and Fazer25. The said recall has been issued in order to resolve a problem that is related to the engine head cover bolt of the motorcycles. As notified in a press release, around 13,348 units have been recalled among which 12,620 units are of FZ25 and 728 units belong to the Fazer25.
It has been reported that the owners of the said models will be contacted individually by the company and the repair operation will be carried out free of cost at Yamaha’s authorised service centres.
We tried to dig deep into the matter in order to understand the gist of the problems and we found out that issues have been detected regarding the cam cover of the engine head where the gasket and o-ring have to be replaced with new bolts and will be sealed with an adhesive called Loctite.
Due to the reported issue, the engine could get seized in case these bolts get loose and fall into the engine while running. Hence, it has been recommended to the owners of the said models to take their bikes to the nearest Yamaha authorised service centre as early as possible. The whole process won’t cost much of your time as it takes only 10-20 minutes. You can click here to check whether your bike is affected by the recall or not.
