Yamaha R15 Series is the most popular full-faired 150cc sportbike of India, proving its worth by selling 8404 units in July 2018 and outselling products like Suzuki Gixxer and Bajaj Pulsar 220F by a large visible margin. The R15 series has registered an YoY growth of 133% in India.
It is the most expensive 150cc bike in India with a starting price tag of INR 1.16 lakh for the R15S variant. The standard model of R15 V3 is priced at INR 1.27 lakh and the recently launched MotoGP edition is available for INR 1.30 lakh. The MotoGP version is just a cosmetically enhanced version of the R15 V3 producing the same amount of power and torque from the VVA-assisted 155.1cc engine. R15 Version 3.0 is good for 19.3 HP at 10,000 rpm and 15 NM at 8,500 rpm.
The numbers are considerably higher than the last generation model, not just in terms of maximum output but, also the rpm at which the output is received. The engine is liquid cooled and fuel injected, further using a refined 6-speed gearbox with slipper clutch for maximum action.
Yamaha R15 V3 is available in Thunder Grey and Racing Blue shade, out of which, the latter serves as the base shade for MotoGP variant. The all-digital console is the most advanced screen among all locally produced Yamaha products. It even comes with added goodies like LED headlight and tail light.
